
General access requirements
Subject to the general requirements laid down by the academic authorities, admission to the specialised master’s degree programme will be granted to students who fulfil the entry requirements for studies leading to the award of a master’s (second-cycle) degree and who hold a second-cycle diploma, degree, certificate or other qualification issued within or outside the French Community of Belgium, or whose prior learning or experience has been accredited by the jury as being equivalent to at least 300 credits.
Specific access requirements
Holders of a Master in Engineering (Ir.)
Access to the Specialised Master in Nanotechnology is unconditional for holders of a master's degree of at least 120 credits in the field of study n° 19 "Engineering Sciences and Technology" awarded in the French Community of Belgium: master in civil engineering, as well as holders of a university diploma awarded in the Flemish Community of Belgium and declared similar by the management committee.
Holders of master in engineering as described here above awarded by another university than UCLouvain must contact the Vice-Dean for admissions of the EPL to receive permission to enrol.
Holders of other Master's degrees or of foreign Master's degrees
Access to the Specialised Master in Nanotechnology is conditional for the holder of the following master's degrees, which have been awarded for studies of at least 120 credits in the following fields of study: No. 18 "Agricultural Sciences and Biological Engineering": Master of Science in Bioengineering, No. 17 "Sciences": Master in Physical Sciences, Master in Chemical Sciences, Master in Biochemistry and Molecular and Cellular Biology, Master in Bioinformatics and Modelling, and No. 14 "Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences": Master in Biomedical Sciences or Pharmaceutical Sciences, awarded in the French-speaking Community of Belgium, as well as the holder of a university diploma awarded in the Flemish Community and declared similar by the management committee to one of the above-mentioned diplomas.
Access to the Master of Science in Nanotechnology is also conditional for holders of a foreign second cycle diploma worth at least 300 credits.
Candidates will submit an admission file including
- a motivation letter,
- a complete resume (curriculum vitae),
- copies of the Master and Bachelor's degree or documents listing the successful completion,
- all transcript of records of the Bachelor and Master studies (list of courses with obtained marks).
Admissible applications will be examined by the jury with a view to possible admission. A selection interview may be organised to make sure that the applicant properly masters the basic concepts needed for the study program. All admissions requests are handled by the UCLouvain enrolment office.
